The Pacific Fair Magic Millions Polo is the creation of Magic Millions co-owners Katie Page-Harvey and Gerry Harvey, who say it’s only the beginning of what will become the best and biggest polo event in Australia.
The polo match was the first official event to kick-off the 2017 Jeep Magic Millions Carnival on the Gold Coast, culminating with the richest day on the Australian racing calendar. A-listers across royalty, sport, television and beyond stepped out in style to kick of the 12-day carnival.
Celebrities and VIPs enjoyed lunch in the Audi VIP Marquee including Amanda Abate (local Magic Millions ambassador), Kathy O’Hara (Group 1 winning jockey) and Magic Millions ambassador and Magic Millions Sales and Carnival ambassador Hamish McLachlan, who was the MC of the event.
The event attracted an all-star crowd with racing trainer Gai Waterhouse, celebrity chef Donna Hay and former Australian cricketer Ian Healy all watching from the sidelines. On the field, the Queen’s grand daughter Zara Phillips interchanged with Melbourne Cup winning jockey Michelle Payne and racing commentator Francesca Cumani. Joining them were Australian polo ace Rob Archibald and brother Jack, alongside Argentinian polo champions Alejandro and Ignacio Novillo Astrada.
With a prime view of the field, the Woodford Reserve Marquee was the place to be, with intimate tastings of their finest whiskey and tailored cocktails(Mint Julep, Old Fashioned and Woodford Punch) to sip and socialise.
Woodford Reserve is a premium Kentucky bourbon whiskey with 212 detectable flavour profiles, from bold grain and wood, to sweet aromatics, spice, fruit and floral notes. One of Kentucky’s oldest distilleries, it is home to one of the only heat cycled barrelhouses in the world, ensuring every drop seeps into the charred and toasted white oak to give Woodford Reserve its colour and signature flavour.
We were lucky enough to taste some of their finest whiskey – Distiller’s Select, Double Oaked, and Rye, as well as a limited-edition Master’s Collection that’s released once a year.

A huge thank you to Woodford Reserve for hosting us, we can’t wait until next year!
