Dress For Your Xmas

Christmas Day is celebrated in so many different ways – whatever your occasion, make it a stylish one with Uniqlo.

From a casual family lunch to a formal dinner, the dress code can be hard to navigate. Some of us escape to the beach for a picnic, or a Christmas barbecue is an Aussie tradition. Don’t let yourself be over-dressed at the beach, or under-dressed at dinner. Here are our Christmas Day style tips:

Lunch

If your Christmas lunch is a more formal home affair or you’re out at a restaurant or hotel, something a little more dressy is called for. We’re not talking cocktail, more an outfit you’d wear to the races (without a hat) or to a casual wedding. If you’re outside on a deck or verandah, think natural and lightweight fabrics as you’ll only have nature’s air conditioning to keep you cool. A polo shirt under a blazer is a great option, jeans or chinos on the bottom and a stylish sneaker to match.

Dinner

Christmas dinner is naturally a more formal affair. If opting for a shirt and suit is a bit too much, then pair it back to a blazer and chino combo. A navy blazer is a great alternative to the classic black. Keep the look smart casual with a brogue or loafer, nothing ruins an outfit more than a bad shoe!

BBQ/Beach

Beach or poolside calls for a looser fitting setup, something you can easily take on and off and keep the sun at bay.  If you’re a boardies guy, make them the feature of the outfit, paired with a plain tee. Don’t forget to accessories with your hat and sunnies! If you’re going from beach to BBQ, pack a pair of boat shoes to replace your thongs.
